Please note...

Available are the acreages outlined in red and in white, including some land across the road which is not outlined at all - too narrow a strip. The area in white is also pursued by the Government of Nova Scotia, Dept. of Natural Resources, to add to the MacRae Brook Nature Preserve. It is important to note, however, that when the government buys land they will only protect it for a period of 20 years - it is possible that this wonderful virgin forest might be clearcut in the end, after all. The current owner is interested in protecting it by finding new owners who would love it the way he did, and does.
However, it is expected that this purchase will likely be influenced by how a purchase price of $2.2 million is made available so it may be accessed by the seller as five objects of similar value with similar attributes become available over time. It is his intention to distribute said purchases as heirlooms to four daughters and a son - the farm is not really suitable in that regard, as back acreage is less valuable, as road or waterfront acreage, yet inheritance taxes would negate much of the value, anyway. Therefore, I expect that the solution of how this will be accomplished will affect this transaction one way, or another.
